Our lab staff has over 50 years of combined experience in treating the uique problems of IVF. By utilizing the latest developments in the field of assisted reproductive technology our lab provides the most effective treatment options available to the patient.
Alan Dudkiewicz, Ph.D., HCLD, ELD(ABB)
Laboratory Director
Dr. Dudkiewicz received his Ph.D in Reproductive Physiology and Immunoreproduction from the University of Tennessee. Following postdoctoral training in sperm-acrosomal enzyme biochemistry at the University of Georgia, he joined the Biology Department at the University of Houston. Dr. Dudkiewicz has played an active role in establishing and expanding In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) and diagnostic laboratories in the Chicagoland area since 1983. Alan joined the University of Chicago Hospitals Assisted Reproductive Technology Laboratories in 2001.
Marilyn Novotny , M.S., T.S.(ABB)
Embryologist/Andrologist
Marilyn Novotny received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science from Quincy. Her graduate studies at the University of Illinois Medical Center and Northeastern Illinois University concentrated on reproductive physiology, endocrinology and biochemistry. She received a Master of Science in Biological Sciences from Northeastern Illinois University. Having extensive laboratory experience in both research and clinical settings, Marilyn has participated in Assisted Reporductive Technology Laboratories since 1985.
Yue Zhou, M.D.
Embryologist/Andrologist
Dr. Zhou received his M.D. from the Beijing University, one of the most prestigious universities in China. In 1993, he joined the Fertility Clinic, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark where he actively participated in developing Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) Program and performed numerous infertility research projects. After completing his postdoctoral training in Developmental Biology at the Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, Dr. Zhou joined the University of Chicago Hospitals' Assisted Reproductive Technology Laboratories.
The Assisted Reproductive Technology Laboratories which includes the Semen Analysis Laboratory are accredited by the following:
- The College of American Pathologists
- The Centers For Medicare and Medicaid Services under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments
- The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
